FEBRUARY WINDOW ARTIST: LIZZY SOUR

I’ve always seen my creative practice as a lifestyle to me, I make art that expresses the complexity of my life experiences
. Art gives me a serenity that more materialistic pursuits cannot satisfy. When I make art, I create everything purely from the heart. Art is everything to me, it’s so surreal from my point of view.  I consider myself an abstract artist, but I am always eager to explore new techniques and ways of making. I have produced painting, silkscreen, fashion, sculpture, & much mo

"Cherry on Bottom" -Maren Jensen
Dana is preparing to host the second annual Providence Pizza Week (One Night Only!) at the end of this week. She’s also getting ready for a performance at Maren’s gallery opening at Machines with Magnets this February, and working on a piece for the “Sweater Show” at Trade Pop Up in March. In January, Dana was in Mexico City and saw some smooth piñatas (see above)—a huge source of inspiration for the next piñata that will debut at Runnin' Thru The 401's Pisces dance party at MWM. She just “really” got “into” tea—mostly the drink, but also the gossip. Be careful, she might subtweet you lol!

DANIELLA BEN-BASSAT

Daniella been making paintings and watching Ozzy Osbourne music videos. Recently bought a mouse pad from Megan, and will also have work in "New Romance" - flyer below. Soon she is going to Florida to see a manatee.

MEGAN MANOWITZ

Megan's been making elf hats and playing dress-up. Thinking about the dress a lot. Went to beavertail one day and it was nice. Just ordered some more mouse pads, email her for one (megan.manowitz@gmail.com)

I found out if you go to the third floor of nordstrom's in the providence place mall and go to the back right corner there are these really beautiful tiles all over the floor made by children that are mainly ocean themed. it's in front of a cafe that looks so large as to likely be a portal to another dimension, i can't be sure. the whole area is very magical

She'll be on tour with Girlpool for the month of February send her your blessing and catch her back at ny olneyville system in march xo

If you go to the RISD museum you can pick up a guide to some of Xander's favorite things in their collection. You might have to ask for it though, because they keep it behind the desk, so that the sight of Lynda Benglis with a weird knotty phallus won't damage any young eyeballs.
Might you happen to be in Berlin around Valentine's day? Come see X and this show on the 15th. And then there will be a show at the end of the month here
